Refund Process - How to provide Refund to Customers for Return & Exchange Orders ?
With REX – Returns & Exchange, merchants can easily initiate refunds directly in Shopify—saving time and reducing manual effort. The refund process is quick and intuitive when the original payment method is supported.
Steps :Â
- Select return request from active return tab
- Click on Refund Amount button
- Increase item count by clicking on the increase icon, then click on the Refund button.
Rather than selecting the original payment mode, if your customers have selected options like bank transfer or other payment mode then you cannot raise a refund from the REX app. For these options you need to manually provide a refund. However, information regarding refund will be visible below the return information.
Important Note on Manual Refunds
If a customer has selected a refund option such as bank transfer or any other non-Shopify payment method, the refund cannot be initiated directly from the REX app.
In such cases:

The refund must be processed manually by the merchant

All relevant refund details will still be visible within the return request, below the return information, ensuring full transparency and accurate tracking
